SWEDISH REEVES MUSEUM

My friends Bjorn and Birgitta Herlin have the world's only Jim Reeves Museum, which they operate in Voxna, Halsingland, Sweden in a bucolic setting. Although it is a private tribute, fans may visit by appointment. I have been privy over the past several years as to how Mr. Herlin has painstakingly assembled the collection to the point he has a very nice display. He has personal items of Jim's including clothing, luggage, etc. and various rare photos.

I was so impressed by what Bjorn has done, that I beseeched my friend, James Newberry (who owns the restored Jim Reeves 1960 Cadillac Eldorado) to send him parts that were taken off the car during its two-year, more than $100,000 restoration. You can see some of these in the photos below.

One stunning exhibit is a replica of Jim's diamond cluster ring, which Bjorn had custom-made based on photos of Jim's actual ring that I sent him. There is also a bust of Jim which was done by a talented sculptor, Olaf Lundstrom. Bjorn surprised me by shipping a duplicate of the bust to me. I was amazed that the package it was shipped in made it across the ocean to me without damage.

What is so great is the Herlins have hosted fans from all over the world who have traveled long distances to see the museum. If you look at the random photos below, some of which were taken today, you can see that people of all ages have visited the museum.
